Greetings from the 2014 "reuniters" at their Twisted Wheel Sunday afternoon session.
This guy is the reason, it's Scotch of course, as usual in those days complete with rolled umbrella and bow-tie. He's almost certainly accompanying Jr. Walker on saxophone, the photo having been taken at about five in the morning after an all night party in the late 1960s.
Sadly Scotch died quite suddenly two years ago (2013). As the news of Scotch's death spread, someone suggested that "None of us are getting any younger, so maybe we should meet up more regularly before there are none of us left".
So, in honour of Scotch, we organised our first Darlo Wheelers reunion, fittingly in Manchester. It was a great success and so it was decided to try and make the get-together an annual event.
The 2014 reunion was also succesful, again held in Manchester albeit this time with a few less participants.
Over the course of the reunion weekend it was decided to hold the 2015 event in Darlington, this was to give an opportunity for people who weren't able to travel to Manchester so easily an opportunity to take part.
The rest of this page gives you some brief information about our reunions, what is happening at the moment and what has gone before - we hope you enjoy it.
Dates and location are still being considered, could be June, we'll keep you posted.
